The Cayman Culinary Society’s 24th Annual Salon Culinare is on its way – Eat, Drink and Enjoy!

Screen Shot 2014-10-20 at 2.02.23 PMThe Cayman Culinary Society (CCS) will hold its most anticipated food event, the annual Salon Culinare on October21st, 22nd and 23rd. The competition will be a two-day event hosted by the Ritz Carlton on the 21st and 22nd showcasing remarkable talent in the local culinary industry. The spectacular event will end with a grand celebration on the 23rd, the Out of the Kitchen Gala Dinner. The gala dinner, known for the award winning chefs from all over the island coming out of the kitchen and to each table to cook – as the name suggests – treats each guest to a unique experience.

On the 22nd of October, attendees enjoy an industry specific Trade Show open to the public at no charge. There will also be a bartending competition, ice carving competition and the Chef of the Year cook off. “It’s a non-stop day, full of activities and competitions. It is a great day for the chefs in Cayman to show their talents regardless of where they come from or how long they have been in the business,” explains Chef Vidyadhara Shetty, President of the Cayman Culinary Society. The following evening will feature Out of the Kitchen’s Annual Cayman Culinary Society Awards Gala. The Gala includes tableside cooking featuring exquisite dishes for “foodies” and an awards ceremony on the 23rd of October with tickets available for purchase from the Ritz Carlton for only $145 per person.

In its 24th year of the Cayman’s Culinary Showcase, The Cayman Culinary Society has been organising these competitions so that all the chefs on island can put forth their international culinary talents, thereby helping the tourism industry on the island. International guest judges from the American Culinary Federation and Johnson and Wales will be overseeing the event along with local experts.

This is an event that has grown in popularity from year to year and is always well supported by the local community. With so much on show, it is a great way for the public to see all those who usually work behind the scenes and are such a big part of the Cayman Culinary scene.

“Cayman’s Culinary Showcase is a great opportunity for guests to see the true art of food. The Culinary Showcase is not just about eating — it’s about the complete taste experience. We want our guests to feel and enjoy that,” said Chef Shetty.

To purchase tickets for Out of the Kitchen’s Annual Cayman Culinary Society Awards Gala, contact the Ritz Carlton at (345)943-9000.Tables are selling out fast, however, while seats last you can select your seat of preference.
