The 16th Int’l Fair ExpoCaribe in Cuba fulfilled its objective

Santiago de Cuba, Jun 22 (Prensa Latina) The objectives of the 16th International Fair ExpoCaribe were met, said Jose Chaple, director of trade policy with Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, summarizing the three-day event that closed Friday evening.

He highlighted the high participation of countries from the Caribbean, with 22 of the 25 belonging to the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) and Martinique as an associate state, while some 90 companies presented their samples, includin some from Europe and Canada.

Chaple said those representations from other latitudes appreciated the opportunities derived from this shared space with the Caribbean to learn more about their potential to promote joint economic endeavors.

There were 80 business meetings in the business rounds, surpassing expectations.

In spite of the short time for preparation, the success of relaunching the Fair after 11 years of interruption, in accordance with the ACS objectives of strengthening integration and cooperation among the Caribbean and with other geographical areas, could be appreciated.

The official also stressed the significance of being able to provide information on opportunities for trade and foreign investment in the provinces from Camagüey to Guantanamo.
