Temporary Closure of Recycling Depot at Foster’s Republix

Grand Cayman, October 5, 2022 – The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is announcing the temporary closure of its Recycling Depot located at Foster’s Republix, West Bay, as of Friday, October 7, 2022.

“The temporary closure of this particular depot has become necessary to facilitate the construction schedule of an extension of the supermarket. We want to thank Foster’s for our long-standing and successful partnership and support in the recycling scheme. In the meantime, we are actively seeking an alternative location to service the West Bay community”, said DEH Director Richard Simms.

Details of the temporary relocation of this depot will be made available to the public as a site is confirmed and ready to collect recyclable items. In the interim, members of the public asked to use any other of the Recycling Depots listed below:

·         Camana Bay Recycling Centre, West Bay

·         Kirk Market, George Town

·         Foster’s at the Airport Centre, George Town

·         BarCam Service Station, Red Bay

·         Foster’s at Countryside Shopping Village, Bodden Town

·         Craddock Ebanks Civic Centre, North Side

·         Captain George Dixon Park, East End

Residents are reminded that recyclable items can also be deposited at the 24-hour drop-off site located at the front of the George Town landfill.
