The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) urges residents of Cayman Brac to make arrangements for the transportation of their derelict vehicles and other metal waste to the Cayman Brac Landfill by Tuesday, 26 February 2019.

The DEH will include all the derelict vehicles and metal items that it receives in the ongoing metal baling activity at the Cayman Brac Landfill.

The metal baling operation, which commenced on Monday, 11 February 2019 will be the final such activity for this year and will facilitate the creation of additional space within the landfill.

Patience Eke, Environmental Health Officer assigned to the Sister Islands urges residents to make every effort to get derelict vehicles and other metal items to the landfill. “Those who are genuinely unable to afford to have derelict vehicles removed may contact me directly to make arrangements for their removal”, commented Mrs Eke.

Residents may contact Mrs Eke by telephone on 916-4201.

The DEH has baled 75 vehicles and created 150 full metal bales since the baling activity began last week.
