Syracuse University presents David Doubilet UW Photo Workshop on Grand Cayman

(DNW) – Famed National Geographic photographer, author and speaker David Doubilet will lead students and professionals to Grand Cayman Island for an intensive one-week underwater photography workshop. The event is being presented by the Syracuse University MPD (Multimedia Photography and Design) Department.

David Doubilet clownfishScheduled for May 16–23, 2015, this eight-day experience will be based at the Sunset House, a resort that caters to underwater photographers. Each day will consist of lectures, diving/shooting, post-production and evening presentations of the day’s work.

Doubilet, the most published living underwater photographer says, “I am very excited to have this opportunity and honored to have this workshop associated with Syracuse University. The Newhouse School has a proven history with National Geographic.”

Teaching along with Doubilet will be his partner, Jen Hayes, an aquatic biologist and photojournalist specializing in natural history and marine environments. Hal Silverman, adjunct professor in the MPD NGS Picture ID:564912Department and digital post-production partner to Doubilet and Hayes, also will provide instruction.
