Swearing-In for Speaker and Members of Parliament on Tuesday May 6

The Swearing-In Ceremony for the Speaker of the House of Parliament and Members of Parliament is scheduled to take at the House of Parliament, 33 Fort Street on Tuesday, 6 May 2025, 2:00 pm.

The event marks a significant milestone in the Cayman Islands and various individuals have been invited to share in the occasion. Given limited capacity, access will be granted on the earliest arrival.

To maintain the dignity and formality of the event, it is necessary for all attendees to observe the following guidelines:  

  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start to ensure smooth access and timely seating,
  • Everyone attending must wear business attire, including a jacket., and
  • Children under the age of 10 will not be admitted to the ceremony.

Immediately following the ceremony inside the House of Parliament, there will be the swearing-in ceremony for ministers and Cabinet members outside the precincts of Parliament.

The public is invited to watch the live broadcast on CIG TV, CIG YouTube channel and Radio Cayman. Members of the public may also view Proclamation No. 5 of 2025 issued by Governor Jane Owen here

  1. Attending the Swearing-In Ceremony? Plan ahead! It’s like managing Papa’s Pizzeria during rush hour – early arrival is key for the best seat. Business attire is a must, no kids under 10, think of it as an upscale dining experience! If you miss out, CIG TV has you covered. Maybe later you can relax and actually play Papa’s Pizzeria.
