A piece of island paradise once owned by Hollywood legend Richard Harris which has hosted stars from Nicholas Cage to the Beatles is on sale for a cool £65m.

The Gladiator and Harry Potter actor named the palatial retreat Kilkee House after the County Clare town where the Limerick native spent holidays throughout his life.

The incredible oceanfront estate, on the aptly named Paradise Island in the Bahamas, will go under the hammer on January 14th.

It is set on over two acres with both beach and bay frontage and is on sale for $10million, the Irish Mirror reported.

The 11000 sq ft, four-bedroom home was built over 70 years ago by Huntington Hartford II.

He wanted to transform a piece of land into a getaway for the rich who wanted a winter sunshine break.

The home is just a short boat journey from capital city Nassau and is only accessible by boat for maximum privacy.

Harris bought the house in 1971.

The actor starred in films such as Gladiator as Marcus Aurelius, Unforgiven, The Filed as ‘Bull McCabe’, Camelot as ‘King Arthur’, The Count of Monte Cristo and Harry Potter as ‘Professor Dumbledore’.

The property has breathing taking lush lawns and gardens with a stone bridge over a pool.

There is also a waterfall, gym, dining room that can seat 18 people and 60m of waterfront.

Many famous faces have stayed at the house over the decades.

It was a party hub for the ‘who’s who’ of the celebrity and social scene from the 1960s to the present.

People who spent a night there include members of the The Rat Pack, The Beatles, Nicholas Cage, and Pierce Brosnan.

Harris’s children and later grandchildren rode horses on the private beach in front of the house.

The actor died in 2002 of Hodgkin’s disease and the retreat was sold in 2005 by his children to real estate developer David Kosoy.

Kosoy and his wife pumped millions into the property restoring it.

The estate is now up for sale with Concierge Auctions.

On the opposite of Paradise Island, Basketball hero Michael Jordan owns land.

Jay Z and Beyoncé’s manager Steve Stoute built a house there as well.
