Security guard bag stolen two in police custody / 3 Robberies in GT

A 23-year-old robbed at knifepoint in GT (Tue) UPDATE – Charged

The 41-year-old male who was arrested in connection with the robbery at Delworth’s Gas Station on Eastern Avenue on 8th April 2014 has been charged with robbery and disorderly conduct at a police station.  He is scheduled to appear before the Summary Court this morning.

At approximately 12.30 am this morning, on the forecourt of Delworth’s Esso Gas station, North Church Street a 23 year old male resident was robbed of a small amount of coins by a male armed with a knife. The victim handed over the coins and was not injured. Police responded and a 43-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of robbery; a knife was also recovered. He is currently in custody at the George Town Police Station.

Security guard bag stolen two in police custody

At approximately 8.45pm last night, a security guard working at the Caledonian Bank on Dr Roys Drive, George Town had his bag stolen outside the bank by two males who ran off on foot. Police officers responded and located the bag and two males.  Both age 17 years were arrested and are in custody at George Town Police station on suspicion of theft.  The victim was not physically injured.

56-year-old Cuban National Robbed in GT (Mon night)

At approximately 7.30pm last night, a 56-year-old Cuban national was robbed of his jewelry, wallet and passport by two males close to the Nevlaw Building on Shedden Road. No weapons were used but the victim sustained minor cuts and bruises during the incident. He attended the George Town Hospital, treated and discharged.

Robbery in GT [Monday]

At approximately 9.15 am this morning (Monday 7th April 2014), a male resident of Lakeside Villas, George Town was robbed while returning to his apartment by two masked males. The victim was forced into his apartment where CI$1,200.00 cash was taken from him. The two suspects made off on foot towards the Courts Road area. The victim was not physically injured.

The suspects are described as follows:

First Suspect. Male about 6’ 2” tall, medium build, dark brown complexion, dressed in long blue jeans and a white “T”- shirt over a long, black-sleeved shirt, and he wore black gloves. He wore a black hoodie over his head, and he had on brown tennis shoes, and he was armed with a machete.

Second Suspect. Male about 5’ 8” tall, slim build, long blue jeans,  a blue “T”- shirt with black sleeves. He wore a black hoodie over his head, and he was armed with a knife.

Both males spoke with a Caymanian accent.

Officers from George Town CID attended the report and are following up with the investigation.
