“Real Time With Bill Maher” returns to HBO

Miami, FL – January 7, 2015 – HBO announced the season 13 premiere of the award-winning talk show Real Time with Bill Maher on January 9th at 23:00 AST* in the Caribbean, simultaneously with the United States. Hosted live by comedian and political satirist Bill Maher, the popular program discusses current events in politics and the media.

Maher offers his unique perspective on contemporary issues, with a format including an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviews with special in-studio and satellite guests. This Friday, comedian Chris Hardwick is the top-of-show interview guest, with comedian Jay Leno in the mid-show. Political commentator Paul Begala, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, and author Salman Rushdie are the roundtable guests.

Real Time with Bill Maher debuted in February 2003 and now celebrates its 12th year on air. Due to its success, the show has been nominated for Primetime Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series every year from 2005 to 2014, and has also garnered Emmy® nominations in the Outstanding Writing, Directing and Individual Performance categories.

Maher headlined his first special on the network in 1989, has starred in ten solo specials to date, and is also an executive producer of the innovative news magazine show “VICE,” which concluded its second season on HBO in 2014 and returns this year.

Real Time with Bill Maher is executive produced by Maher along with Scott Carter, Sheila Griffiths, Marc Gurvitz, Brad Grey, Billy Martin and Dean E. Johnsen; produced by Matt Wood and directed by Paul Casey.
