Prince Harry arrived in Oman on Tuesday, Nov. 18, for a three-day visit that reflects on the relationship between the Royal families of the two countries. The 30-year-old prince enjoyed his stay in Oman that included celebration of the Sultanate’s National Day, visits to the British Embassy in Muscat and Nizwa Fort as well as a shopping trip and the experience of a traditional sword dance.

According to The Times of Oman report, it is Prince Harry’s turn to see and experience the country following the visits from the other members of the British Royal family. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh had an enjoyable visit back in 2010 while Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall returned to the country for a visit in 2013.

“Despite The Sultan’s unavailability to personally host Prince Harry on this occasion, both parties were keen that the visit still takes place given the direct and personal nature of the invitation,” a Kensington Palace spokesman stated. During his stay in Oman, Prince Harry had the time to go on a souvenir shopping spree where he picked up a cuddly camel toy probably for his nephew, Prince Groge, at the traditional Muscat souq.

A Mail Online report revealed that Prince Harry also purchased a cashmere scarf after playfully rubbing a brass lamp. After the shopping trip, Prince Harry paid a visit to the historic Nizwa Fort where he had the chance to meet and perform with the traditional sword dancers inside the courtyard.

The report further shared that Prince Harry was handed a sword and a small shield as he tried to perform the sword dance called “Razha” with a 60-year-old man named Mohammed Moussa. After experiencing the traditional sword dance, Prince Harry was given a tour around the Nizwa Fort that showed stunning views from the surrounding mountains. Click HERE to see photos.
