Pool Shark off to Barbados for Open Water Training with Swim Canada [before Olympic trials in Cayman Islands]

Pool Shark swimmer Quinn Matteis, along with Head Coach Brian Lindsay will be part of the Swim Canada team of swimmers and coaches travelling to Barbados to participate in an Open Water Training Camp, November 4-10.

Quinn Matteis’ swims in the 800 and 1500 freestyle at Ontario Summer Provincials and Canadian Junior Championships were good enough to put him on the Ontario Team. Shark’s Head Coach Brian Lindsay is the Team Leader for the five Ontario swimmers. Swimmers from across Canada will be present. Swimmers that are part of this Camp will be using their experience for Olympic Trials in Cayman Islands in April, 2020.

The week long training camp, headed by Swim Canada Open Water Head Coach Mark Perry, will conclude with Open Water competition at the end of the week.The 1.5Km race will be on Saturday, November 9 and the 5Km and 10Km race will be on Sunday, November 10.
