A majority of Americans believe the “media has been too critical” in their coverage of President Donald Trump, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll published Sunday.

The poll revealed:

51 percent: Media has been too critical.
41 percent: Mostly fair and objective.
6 percent: Media has not been critical enough.
2 percent: Not sure.
The poll also revealed that 53 percent of Americans believe the media has exaggerated the problems in the Trump administration. That included 79 percent of those who consider Fox News as their primary news source, and even 40 percent of those who consider the liberal MSNBC their primary news source.

The reporting of the poll on NBC News showed some measure of bias as the NBC News headline read: “Trump’s Job Approval Stands at Just 44 Percent as Partisan Splits Reign.”

But, deeper in the survey’s results, The Hill found a majority of support for Trump in his ongoing campaign against critical media, which he has attacked various times as “fake news.”
