Pirates Week Landing was fun filled

_dsc8322aGeorgina Wilcox

A week ago on Saturday 12th the annual Pirates Week Landing and Float Parade took place in George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.

Harbour Drive was packed with residents and tourists who enjoyed a beautiful day full of colour, smoke, bangs, pirates and a galleon as the buccaneers arrived to take over the country for a week.

The small contingent of red coats was no match for the pirates and the spectators laughed and enjoyed the spectacle of the sword fighting.

Then it was the float parade that saw many imaginative floats with one going really back in time complete with cart and a bride and groom holding the reins.

The day ended in a street dance and it really was fun, fun and more fun.

  1. Really enjoyed the photos of all the buccaneers and red coats, grownup and not-so-grown-up! Wish I could have been there.
