Pilates meets Barre bootcamp

Pilates for PinkGRAND CAYMAN (October 9, 2014) – Essential Fitness is hosting the 8th annual breast cancer fundraiser, Pilates for Pink, at 9 am on Saturday, October 11th, 2014 at The ARC at Camana Bay. This event draws hundreds from across the island to take part in a group pilates workout.

, cancer survivor, founder and organizer of Pilates for Pink said, “I know what a powerful effect support can be to someone experiencing cancer, and getting together – all in one place, to put our bodies to the test – is a great way to show our island we care.”

“Pilates for Pink started with 25 people in a small studio and has grown to have over 200 participants and raises thousands of dollars for the Cayman Islands Cancer Society. The event strives to raise awareness of breast cancer and helps provide financial aid for local cancer patients and their families”, Brummer said.

From 9am to 10am there will be a pre-workout pink party with the Barre Bootcamp workout starting at 10am. The one-hour workout is adapted for all ages and fitness levels incorporating pilates as well as exercises from ENERGY’s Total Barre and Zenga Stretch Classes.

Registration forms are available at ENERGY Essential Fitness Studio, located in Cricket Sqaure or email [email protected] for detail. The cost is $25 to attend and includes a swag bag with an exercise band and other fitness goodies. On-site registration will also be available the day of the event.
