Pedro meeting

On Friday the 6th of January 2012 representatives of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, the Port Authority of the Cayman Islands and the Tourism Attraction Board (TAB) met today to discuss the matter of persons jumping off the cliffs of Pedro Bluff, with a view to finding solutions to prevent further deaths at the site.

The meeting was very productive and a number of ideas and possible solutions were discussed, including continuing public education about the dangers of jumping off at the site.

The next immediate step will be that the property owner with the assistance of the Govt. will be erecting barriers and “No Trespassing Signs,” as well as other signs advising of the dangers of being on or near the edge of the cliffs.

This work will be carried out through the assistance of PWD and NRA and should commence in the coming week.
