Pastor Al laid to rest

Dr. Alden A. Ebanks, Cert. of Hon., J.P., D.D., was laid to rest on Sat. 26th November. A Thanksgiving Service for his life was held at a packed Agape Family Worship Centre. Officiating ministers were his son Andrew Ebanks, Pastor Alson Ebanks, Pastor Winston Rose and Dr. Ronald Cottle. There were many tributes from family, the Agape Staff and Congregation and friends including Hon. Mark Scotland, MLA on behalf of the Health Services Authority, Wil Pineau on behalf of the Constitutional Commission, CAYS (Children and Youth Services) Foundation, Cayman Ministers Association and the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

Known to all as Pastor Al, he was much loved and not only in the Christian community. He was ordained in 1987 and became the full time pastor at Agape that was known locally in its former location as the Church on Hospital Road. He was one of 500 people recognised as national builders on the Cayman Islands Quincentennial Wall of Honour. He was awarded the Certificate and Badge of Honour by the Cayman Islands Government. His eldest son preceded him in death in tragic circumstances. His wife Kathy and his three children Joni, Trisha and Andrew survive him.

Pastor Al was 52 years of age.
