Panther Coffee debuts at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, Grand Cayman

Panther Coffee, Miami’s celebrated small batch coffee roaster, is now available for the first time in the Caribbean at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Grand Cayman as part of James Beard Award-winning chef/owner Michael Schwartz’s ongoing commitment to source the best ingredients and support small businesses

making great products. Owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Joel Pollock and Leticia Ramos Pollock, Panther roasts exclusively on-site in their Wynwood Arts District shop using a restored pre-World War II Probat Perfekt Roaster and beans personally-sourced from farms across the globe, selected for taste as well as and individuality.

“We love when we can help young entrepreneurs, who believe in what we believe in, to grow and be successful, whether it’s a farmer or a coffee roaster,” says Schwartz. “We saw an opportunity to offer our customers a superior coffee product, and help Joel and Leticia expand in a way that made good sense for all of us. We’re proud to be able to serve Panther at our island home in Camana Bay, and I can’t wait to drink great coffee on my next visit!”

Panther first appeared at the chef’s new casual neighborhood joint in Miami’s Design District, Harry’s Pizzeria, as its exclusive coffee since opening in September of 2011. In the spring, they began service at South Beach’s iconic Raleigh Hotel, where Schwartz’s The Genuine Hospitality Group runs food and beverage operations.

“This is an exciting next step in the growing relationship with The Genuine Hospitality Group,” Pollock explains. “Ever since we arrived in town a little over a year ago, we’ve wanted to work with Michael, so we couldn’t be more thrilled with how things have blossomed.”

Panther Coffee is on the menu as of this week at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Grand Cayman including brewed Fazenda Chapadão de Ferro and Honduras Mountain Water Decaf (3,) espresso (3.50,) double espresso (5.50,) macchiato (4,) cappuccino (4.50,) Latte (4.50,) and Iced Coffee (4.) Panther’s signature Cold Brew,

a favorite mid-afternoon pick-me-up of the genuine team, will go into effect next week. Joel and Leticia (and the latest addition to the family, little Luciana) recently returned from the island where they spent four days training staff on how to properly make and present the Panther portfolio.

Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Grand Cayman is located at 47 Forum Lane, Suite 4103, Canella Court at Camana Bay and is open for lunch and dinner daily. For more information call 345.640.6433 or go online at michaelsgenuine.com
