Moonlight & Movies Halloween Series

You’re in for a scream this Halloween as Camana Bay hosts a series of spooky flicks.

Tuesday 28 October: The Addams Family (1991, PG-13) – 7pm – Con artists plan to fleece the eccentric family using an accomplice who claims to be their long-lost Uncle Fester.

Wednesday 29 October: ET: The Extra Terrestrial (1982, PG) – 7pm – A troubled child summons the courage to help a friendly alien escape Earth and return to his home-world.

Thursday 30 October: Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005, G) – 7pm –

Wallace and his loyal dog, Gromit, set out to discover the mystery behind the garden sabotage that plagues their village and threatens the annual giant vegetable growing contest.

Friday 31 October: The Ring (2002, PG-13) – 8pm – A young journalist must investigate a mysterious videotape which seems to cause the death of anyone within a week of viewing it.

Saturday 1 November – Spooktacular and Spooky Creature Double Feature Showings:

It’s The Great Pumpkin (1966,G) – 6pm – The Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween while Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin. Coraline (2009, PG) – 6:30pm – An adventurous girl finds another world that is a strangely idealised version of her frustrating home, but it has sinister secrets.

Men in Black (1997, PG-13) – 8pm – A streetwise NYPD detective joins a secret organisation that polices extra-terrestrial affairs on Earth.

Rotary Club of Grand Cayman’s Haunted House of Horror

Get into the spirit of the spooky season at The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman’s Halloween House of Horror. Admission is CI$10 and children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. All proceeds will benefit charities supported by the Club.

Formerly known as the Chamber of Commerce Business Expo, CayShop! is the largest business event in the Cayman Islands. Halloween Spooktacular

Little monsters are in for a ghoulishly good time when Camana Bay hosts its annual Halloween Spooktacular! Kids, don your best costume and get ready to trick or treat throughout the Town Centre, get creative with Creepy Crafts, guess what’s inside the Monster Lab, watch a Spooky Creature Double Feature, take a picture in a charity Pumpkin Patch and dance the night away at the Monster Mash Bash.

Daniel Pearl World Music Days

Cayman Music School has chosen Saturday 8 November for their special concert in recognition of Daniel Pearl World Music Days – an international network of concerts that use the power of music to reaffirm the world’s commitment to tolerance and humanity. World Music Days is an awareness-raising programme, not a fundraiser so all are welcome to attend and enjoy the sounds of Cayman Music School.

Captured by Rotaract

Three Rotarians from each of the Rotary Clubs on island will be captured by the Rotaractors and held ransom. While the Rotarians are ‘Captured’ by Rotaract, they will seek contribution toward their ransom funds from fellow Rotarians, family members, friends and businesses. Budding Chef Kids and Teens Cooking Classes

Drum Circle

Professional drummers Randy Chollette, Damion Thaxter and Eden Hurlston of the musical group I Am Percussion Ensemble bring the Town Centre to life with a jam session featuring African, Cuban and Caymanian rhythms. All are invited to join the jam or just enjoy the show.

Floetry

Join some of Cayman’s most talented poets and performers who share their work during an open mic night of poetry and readings. Share your own work, gain creative inspiration or simply enjoy the show. 3K Santa Run

Dash around the Town at Camana Bay’s first-ever Santa Run with a portion of the proceeds going towards the Camana Bay Christmas Give for local charities in need of help and holiday cheer! One Santa costume is included with each registration (hat, beard, jacket, belt and pants), an d along the way there will be sponsored Cheer Stations! Featuring Santa’s Elves ‘milk and cookie’ stops, Pelt the Grinch!, music and more. Registration cost is CI$35 for adults and children

13 and over, CI$10 for ages 5-12 and free for Santas under 5.

Christmas Crafts with Starfish Village

Kids of all ages are invited to create beautiful holiday crafts that make the perfect present at this fun, free event with Starfish Village. All supplies will be provided, just bring your creativity! 8th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

Camana Bay transforms into a sparkling wonderland with a majestic Christmas tree, inspiring musical performances from The Cay man National Choir and Orchestra, Cayman International School Elementary Choir and the Cayman Islands Folk Singers, a Christmas craft market and, of course, a special visit from Santa Claus.

Nosotros: Spanish Floetry

Spanish-speaking poets and performers—and those who simply enjoy la lengua de Cervantes—are invited to join Nosotros, a group whose mission is to build bridges and create connections through culture, for their monthly open mic night. Cuisine of the Sun

Each month, one of Ortanique’s talented chefs will create a three-course dinner with wine pairings, based on the cuisine from his or her homeland. Santa Paws

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Santa Paws wants to spread Christmas cheer to all pets in Cayman. Pets and their owners are invited to take holiday photos with Santa. The generous dog lovers from Picture This will be onsite taking professional photos with prints for purchase and there will be holiday gift sales from the Cayman Islands Humane Society and Must love Dogs. Pink Ladies Christmas Bazaar

The annual charity fundraiser will feature delicious homemade tea, distinctive handmade crafts, white elephant sale and a sil ent auction   with stirring performances by the National Choir and Orchestra. Ortanique Pig Roast
