New CEO for St. Kitts Tourism Authority comes from Cayman

tourismFrom St Kitts Tourism Authority

I have the distinct pleasure of starting off 2014 by announcing the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the St. Kitts Tourism Authority (SKTA).

Ms. Raquel Brown comes to the position of CEO with a depth of experience gained in both the public and private sectors in the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and the Eastern Caribbean, including Sandals Resorts International, the US Agency for International Development, and the Inter-American Development Bank. Most recently she was employed as the Deputy Director for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.

Ms. Brown’s work experience includes destination branding, customer relationship management, development of heritage and cultural programs for sustainable tourism, and quality standards for public transportation and accommodations.

In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Brown’s academic achievements make her well qualified for the position of CEO of the SKTA. She has achieved a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Environmental Geology from Northeastern University in Boston, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Florida International University (FIU) in Miami.

I look forward to the addition of the new CEO to our leadership team, to strengthen our tourism policies for promoting stakeholder partnership and people empowerment, and for the design and implementation of various initiatives in product development and strategic marketing.

Please join me in extending a genuine Kittitian welcome to Ms. Brown.

Best regards,

Ricky Skerritt

Minister of Tourism & International Transport & Minister of International Trade, Industry, Commerce & Consumer Affairs Government of St. Kitts & Nevis
