She had just returned back to Los Angeles following a summer getaway far from home.

But clearly, Reese Witherspoon is still in a vacation state of mind.

On Wednesday, the 38-year-old took to Instagram to share a snap from her peaceful trip, a photo which captured the actress as she tenderly held her son Tennessee Toth’s hand as they looked out at the clear Caribbean waters.

‘My heart is in the #Caribbean. #Postcardfromafar,’ the Legally Blonde actress captioned the relaxing snap.

Clad in a summery white dress complete with a lace detail, Reese completed the look with a white fedora and sunglasses.

She wore her blonde hair down in relaxed waves, and gazed at her son with husband Jim Toth as he padded towards the clear water.

A second photo shared by the Election actress on Tuesday captured Reese as she rode upon a boat, with what appeared to be a seashell in hand.

Her wet hair pulled back into a ponytail, Reese looked as if she had just finished up a dip in the water.

‘#Postcardfromafar… Guess where?? Hint #2 : where you can catch these guys,’ the actress captioned the photo.

In addition to her Caribbean vacation, Reese spent some time relaxing on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, where she was captured dancing at a friend’s wedding in Capri.

‘It’s an annual trip,’ a source shared with Us Weekly of her Italian getaway.

According to the publication, a friend of the actress remarked on her trip to the destinations: ‘There were only beautiful sights.’

Meanwhile Reese and her husband Jim have purchased a fixer upper home in Nashville, Tennessee for $1.95 million, according to Variety.

The elegant white bricked residence sits on 6.51 acres and includes four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms and was originally built in the 1930s.

It also includes a formal living and dining room and a fully paneled study with defunct fireplace as well as a window-lined breakfast room with built-in corner cupboard space.
