MVA on Cayman Brac on Saturday, 2 July

Around 7:30PM on Saturday, 2 July, Police, Fire and EMS responded to a report of a MVA on Southside Road in Cayman Brac. A Chevy Silverado and Suzuki Cultus, which were heading opposite directions, had collided in the vicinity of 512 Southside Road, and sustained extensive damages. There were no passengers in either vehicle; both drivers were airlifted to Grand Cayman by Cayman Airways and taken to Health City Hospital. The driver of the Suzuki, a woman, age 52, was trapped in her vehicle and freed by Fire officers. She sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and is still in the hospital.

The driver of the Silverado, a man, age 24, of Cayman Brac, was released from hospital and arrested for Failing to Provide a Specimen. He is currently on Police Bail.

The female driver is currently at Health City.
