MVA 4 Injured in one accident and car flips over in 2nd accident/ man charged causing death by careless driving

At approximately 1.12am on Sunday March 3rd 2013 the RCIPS attended the scene of a two vehicle collision on Shamrock Road Red Bay vicinity of Prospect Play House.

Collision occurred when Toyota Altezza and Honda Accord were travelling along Shamrock Road heading east direction when both drivers lost control of their vehicles and collided with the Jerk Chicken stand in Red Bay.

Both drivers and two passengers were transported to GTH where drivers age 18 and 21yrs old were admitted as a result of injuries sustained, which are believed not to be life threatening at this time. The two passengers were treated and release.

Matter is under investigation.

RCIPS is asking for any witness(es) who may have seen the accident or have any information to please contact any of the police stations or the Traffic Management at 946-6254.

On Saturday March 2nd 2013 at approximately 12.52pm RCIPS officers attended to the scene of a one vehicle collision on Esterly Tibbetts Highway vicinity of Safe Haven Drive George Town. Collision occurred when 33yr old female driver was travelling along that road heading towards WB. On exiting the roundabout vicinity of Safe Haven drive she lost control of the vehicle that flipped over the guard rail. No injuries were reported.

Both matters are under police investigation.

Man charged of causing death by careless driving

The RCIPS wishes to advise that on Sunday the 3rd of March 2013, following receipt of a ruling from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, (DPP) a 30 year old male has been formally charged for the offence of Causing Death by Careless Driving. The man was later released on bail and is to appear in court on the 18th of March 2013.

The Road Traffic Collision (RTC) for which the man has been formally charged, occurred on Monday the 15th October 2012 at about 0600hrs, along the Easterly Tibbett’s  Highway and involved  two motor vehicles; resulting in the death of Mrs. Beverly Ramsey.
