Morritt’s Cayman House Development finalist in London’s LABC Building Excellence Awards 2014

David MorrittComing off of a tumultuous celebration of his recent development – The Londoner, here at Grand Cayman’s Morritt’s Resort; Developer; David Morritt, reached yet another milestone with the recent announcement of recognition as a finalist for his Cayman House Development in the London Borough of Lewisham. London base LABC Building Excellence Awards 2014, has announced David Morritt’s as a finalist in this year’s recognition for “Best Small New Housing Development” Category.

Mr. Morritt’s stated that obviously he was please to return to his roots in London, where he began as a developer. He said, the Cayman House Development was an inspiration of his love for Cayman. He quipped that he brought a little of Cayman to London with the Cayman House Development and a little of London to Cayman with the recent building of The Londoner at Morritt’s Resort in East End. “I am honored and elated to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award and whether or not I’m selected as the Winner, I appreciate the recognition of being shortlisted and owe much gratitude to my family, friends and contractors for their fantastic support that motivates me to build each day.”

Their members ensure that all buildings are habitable, safe, dry and warm. An LABC representative commented that with over 3,000 professional surveyors and building technicians working in local authority building control, they provide a consistent national service that is delivered at a local level. The LABC Website reiterates that their Building Excellence Awards are all about the essence of good buildings. Our finalists are not judged on architectural beauty, but on the “Excellence” shown from a construction and technical building control point of view. Our awards recognise not just buildings but celebrate their design and construction teams that have tussled with technical issues, difficult sites and found innovative and creative solutions.
