A large delegation composed of the Moroccan ambassador to Saint Lucia, Abderrahim Kadmiri, and director general of the Moroccan International Cooperation Agency (AMCI), ambassador Mohamed Methqal, including officials from the ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as well as various ministerial departments visited several Caribbean countries on July 8-13.

During the visit, the Moroccan delegation held meetings with several heads of government and ministers to discuss means of strengthening cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the countries of the Caribbean region, including Saint Lucia, Grenada, Commonwealth Dominica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Barbados.

The delegation held talks with numerous Prime ministers who commended the attention given by HM King Mohammed VI for the promotion of South-South cooperation and the sustainable development of the Island States notably the Caribbean countries.

For its part, the Moroccan delegation presented Morocco’s main achievements in various sectors such as training, tourism, agriculture, fisheries and health at working meetings with Caribbean ministers and government officials.

Following the many meetings held by the Moroccan delegation, the parties agreed to share Morocco’s experience and expertise in several fields with the Caribbean countries, particularly through the multiplication of exchange visits by officials and the organization in Morocco of human resources capacity-building programs in different sectors.
