Miss World Cayman 2022 Contestants revealed

Contestant #1 – Leanni Tibbetts 

The Miss World Cayman Islands (MWCI) Organization is proud to announce the five contestants who will be competing for the prestigious crown and title of Miss World Cayman Islands 2022.

Contestant #1 – Leanni Tibbetts, 25, hails from George Town. Leanni is a Pilot / Coast Guard. She also volunteers for the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps. If crowned MWCI, she would like to use her platform to empower women, especially those in abusive situations and highlight environmental initiatives. Leanni lives by the saying “Be the change”. Contestant #2 – Melissa Bridgemohan, 24, hails from West Bay. Melissa is a Senior Behavior Technician. She also volunteers with Academy Football Club’s Football4All program. If crowned Miss World Cayman Islands, Melissa would like to use her platform to share her passion for education for all, especially those with disabilities. Melissa lives by the saying, “The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.” – Helen Keller. [@melissabridgemohan_]

Contestant #3 – Latoya Jackson, 21, hails from Bodden Town. Latoya is a Youth Leader. If crowned Miss World Cayman Islands, Latoya would like to use her platform to promote mental health awareness.

Latoya lives by the saying, “Do my best because only my best is good enough.” [@the.latoya.jackson]

Contestant #4 – Deverlee Ramos Bodden, 27, hails from Cayman Brac. She is a Senior Sales Associate. Through the years, Deverlee has volunteered her time with different charities. If crowned Miss World Cayman Islands, Deverlee would like to use her platform to empower women and other victims of abuse and support environmental projects that highlight marine life preservation and climate change impacts. Deverlee lives by the saying, “Trust creates peace.” [@deverleeramos]

Contestant #5 – Angelique Copeland, 23, hails from George Town. She is an Operation Associate. Angelique is a board member of the Leo’s Club at the University College of the Cayman Islands. If crowned Miss World Cayman Islands, Angelique would like to use her platform to represent teenagers/young adults who are transitioning into adulthood by creating realistic life skills classes. Angelique lives by the saying, “Always keep the faith.” [@angeliquecopeland_]

“We are very excited to be able to present our fourth Miss World Cayman pageant,” Director of Miss World Cayman Islands, Ms. Pamela Ebanks-Small said. “We have five beautiful, intelligent and confident women vying for the 2022 crown and title. We could not be more proud of their growth thus far. I am also grateful for the support of our partners and sponsors who have been with us since the pageant’s inception.” She commented.

The journey has already begun for the 2022 contestants. Contestants have been engaged in runway, dance, fitness and toastmasters training. As part of the preparation for pageant night, they will also participate in a number of community events, island tours and complete a series of media appearances.

The contestants will compete in a Sports challenge, Multimedia, and Private Judges’ interview which will take place prior to the day of the pageant. Reigning titleholder, Rashana Hydes is set to crown her successor at the 4th staging of the MWCI pageant to be held on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at the Harquail Theatre. The evening will begin at 6pm with a cocktail hour, and show time will begin at 7pm. On the coronation night, contestants will be awarded sectional prizes in a variety of categories, including Top Model, Beauty with a Purpose, Evening Gown, Miss Congeniality, Best in Sports and a Final Question & Answer segment.
