meeco to install sun2roof solar systems on German traditional specialised yarn factory

Gruschwitz Textilwerke AG to be equipped with a 280 kWp clean energy solution

Saving electricity costs, gaining energy independence and contributing to an eco-friendly power supply in production processes is an aim more and more German companies pursue. The German 200 year old specialised yarn factory Gruschwitz Textilwerke AG has now decided to make further progress in pursuing this target together with meeco. meeco will ins tall two roof-mounted sun2roof solar energy systems on the company’s production facilities and will connect these with meeco’s real-time energy monitoring system sun2see.

Gruschwitz was founded in 1816 and is a long-established company in the German textile industry. The specialist for high-tech sewing threads and technical yarns is located in Leutkirch / Baden Württemberg, close to the border of Austria and Switzerland. In this region, the solar radiation varies from 1,000 to 1,300 kWh/m2 and offers, in reference to the average solar radiation of other Central European countries, the best possible conditions to build a solar energy system.

With meeco´s sun2roof solar plants comprising a total rated output of 280 kWp meeco will provide Gruschwitz with tailor- made PV systems to generate clean and reliable energy on the roofs of their production facilities. meeco will, to that end, install 1,000 modules comprising highly efficient multi crystalline silicon solar cells with textured glass, produced on fully-automated production lines with seamless monitoring of the process. As soon as the project is completed, Gruschwitz will produce more than 300 MWh of clean energy annually and at the same time make sure to avoid 119 tons CO2 emissions per year with these additional Installations.

meeco’s own online monitoring platform sun2see ensures a smooth and seamless monitoring of the operations of the energy installations, since it provides a 24-hours supervision and, in case necessary, troubleshooting support. Thanks to sun2see’s monitoring platform Gruschwitz will be able to track the performance of their solar power system online and get a precise and customised overview of all parameters. In this scope, Gruschwitz will take a step further along on the path of becoming independent from the national grid.

The meeco Group is happy to provide our customer Gruschwitz with a tailor-made solution and to accompany them in their clean energy projects for years to come.
