Marketing in the technology age: Cayman Islands SME attendees learn about online marketing options

With the constant evolution of technology and with new advancements every day, it is unsurprising that businesses are moving away from traditional forms of marketing in favour of the World Wide Web & social media.

New forms of marketing are not easily accessible to everyone, however, and it’s important that these companies and entrepreneurs get the support they need.

The Chamber of Commerce vows to support and promote small businesses, and since the start of 2016 they have partnered with the Ministry of Financial Services, Commerce & Environment to deliver workshops aimed specifically at small-and-micro businesses, and entrepreneurs.

The latest SME workshop, entitled ‘Online Marketing & Payment Options,’ provided attendees with fantastic tips & tricks to utilise the opportunities available to them through social media platforms, and the internet itself.

Digital marketing experts Kartik Mehta & Mansi Patel, who have a combined decade of experience with Netclues, presented the benefits of online marketing, as well as the options available to small businesses, including:

• Accepting online payments;

• Methods of setting up an online payment system;

• Evolution of online marketing;

• The best sites to advertise on;

• How to improve your search engine optimisation (SEO); and much more.

“It was a very useful and relevant presentation, and the presenters were knowledgeable and provided insightful information,” said one attendee. Others stated that they benefitted from the real life experiences used throughout the presentation, seeing the online marketing strategies in action.

The Chamber would like to thank Netclues, Kartik and Mansi for sharing their knowledge with their small-business members and entrepreneurs within the community.

The next SME workshop will take place on Thursday, April 27 and will focus on ‘Forecasting & Budgeting.’ The workshop will be led by expert Trina Savage of Savage Consulting.

These courses are vital for those looking to improve the development of their business, and are free for all to attend.
