Man stabbed – West Bay

A 39yr old male resident of West Bay remains in the George Town Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

At 11:24pm on Friday 8th November 2013 police received a report that a male was stabbed in the chest with a bladed weapon during an altercation with another male at a West Bay Night Club.

The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Police are presently seeking to locate the suspect.

On duty police officers injured and assaulted

In two (2) separate incidents over the weekend police officers were injured and assaulted during the course of their duties.

The most recent incident occurred last night, Saturday 9th November 2013 when police officers on duty at the Pirate’s Week activities in George Town observed a male in possession of a machete.

Two (2) officers proceeded to apprehend the suspected male and both were assaulted by the male as a result.

As a consequence the 45yr old male was arrested on suspicion of Carrying an Offensive Weapon and Assaulting Police.

In an earlier incident occurring on Friday 8th November 2013, police officers at George Town Station received minor injuries after being assaulted by a prisoner.

Three (3) police officers received treatment for their injuries at the George Town Hospital and were released.

The 28yr old male was subdued and arrested for Assaulting Police, Damage to Property and Disorderly Conduct at a Police Station.
