L−Charge receives pre−orders worth $5 million

TheNewsMarket

An off-grid charger manufacturer L-Charge has received pre-orders amounting to $5 million for its mobile EV-charger solution during its roadshow in Europe.

L-Charge focuses on crafting a scalable network of off-grid EV chargers powered by clean fuels. The company went on a roadshow to Europe promoting its focus on CO2 regulations, the impact of the rising demand for EVs, new standards, targets, and powertrain scenarios.

As a result of European tour, L-Charge received pre-orders up to 5 million US dollars. It is worth to mention that earlier L-Charge has raised investment of $1,5 mln. The funds have come from private investors attracted by the ability to charge an electric vehicle with sufficient power for 100 km in just 3-8 minutes using a hydrogen fuel cell or natural-gas-fueled electrical generator.

Among the summit participants were Porsche, Honda R&D Europe, Norwegian EV association, Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg and others. L-charge acted as a silver sponsor of the event.

Since the Sustainability topic is even more important now, automotive manufacturers are focusing further on EVs and green solutions. The second day of the summit was dedicated to environmental topics and upcoming European regulations to facilitate effective decision-making. During the morning session, L-Charge CEO, Dmitry Lashin gave a speech on the topic “LNG/H2 as the Fastest Source to Build Electric Vehicle infrastructure”.

Dmitry highlighted: “63% of EV owners are forced to change their travel plans because of the lack of charging infrastructure. But they won’t anymore.”

Moreover, after the presentation, Dmitry had a meaningful discussion with the founder of Electric Vehicles Outlook Ltd, Roger Atkins, regarding electric revolution.

As EV charging infrastructure is quickly changing to fit the majority of customer’s demands, renewed speakers discussed safe and public charging, as well as challenges and opportunities. What is more, the future outlook could not be overlooked, so topics such as the prospect of sustainable mobility, Brexit, and 2030 petrol and diesel bans were looked upon also.

LNG can be almost equal to the emissions produced from the actual burning of the gas, effectively doubling the climate impact of each unit of energy created from gas transported overseas. 21 percent of total life-cycle emissions for LNG constitute up to 14 percent of LNG’s life-cycle emissions.

About L-Charge

L-Charge’s mobile EV-charger is a mini-power station for fast charging of electric vehicles. The main feature of the L-Charge solution is the ability to convert the engine operation from natural gas to 100% hydrogen when hydrogen will become available.

There are already several services in the world that provide charging calls for electric cars, but they all charge slower. The advantage of L-Charge is that their charger is a mobile mini power station and can therefore charge any electric car in 10-20 minutes. The charger uses liquefied gas or hydrogen to generate power. One mobile L-Charge station can charge 40 electric cars per day.

Earlier L-Charge launched a mobile charging station operating on gas for test operation in Moscow, planning a transition to hydrogen electricity generation. A mobile station is a truck with a set of equipment installed on board that operates on the principle of a gas power plant. The ultra-fast charging station can be called up via the mobile app and charge the electric car for 100 km in just 5-10 minutes. Converting charging stations to generate electricity on hydrogen could help to achieve zero CO2 emissions. That will make the generation of electricity for off grid charging stations 100% environmentally friendly.

As part of the trial tests, the charging service operates in October in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris and Amsterdam. This is how the company intends to assess the level of demand for the service.
