Jeff Webb regrets death of young Cayman Islands footballer Gerome Graham

Mr. Jeffrey Webb, FIFA Vice President, CONCACAF President, and CIFA President, has sent us this statement in relation to the passing of Mr. Gerome Graham.

“I have been advised of the passing of young Gerome Graham, and it is with deep sadness and regret that I express my sincerest condolences, on behalf of the Cayman Islands football fraternity, to Gerome’s family and team mates.

“Gerome was a valued member of the Bodden Town Football Club and the Cayman Islands National Team and will be deeply missed. I will remember him as a very respectful young man that brought joy and laughter to those around him.

“During this very difficult time, please keep the family in our prayers.”

Gerome Graham, who was only 20, tragically died during a team scrimmage at Hague Bodden football field in Bodden Town last Tuesday (13) at around 7:40pm.

He was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital, George Town, where he was sadly pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
