Isaac Douglas Rankine commits to advancing ICT in East End

(George Town, Cayman Islands) — Mr. Isaac Douglas Rankine, independent candidate for East End in the 2017 General Elections, has committed to advancing information, communication and
technology (ICT) resources in the district.

Mr. Rankine and his committee identified the lack of access to ICT resources by the general East End community as one of the issues facing the district that could be addressed immediately.

Commenting on the project Mr. Rankine stated, “During my research for political candidacy it was identified that district residents, primarily youth and young adults, needed access to ICT for various school related research, projects, as well as seeking employment opportunities. My commitment to East End is to be a true representative that provides solutions and not promises alone. I saw this particular issue as one that could be addressed right away and have an immediate impact on the community. For these reasons I decided to move quickly to get the project underway.”

Mr. Rankine managed to gain support from the business community who have agreed to assist and make a sizeable contribution towards the ICT project and addressing the community need.

The ICT project will entail establishing a computer lab in a public access facility and donating a multifunctional printer to the East End Primary School to further enhance the efficiency of the school and teachers.

Mr. Rankine continued, “My Committee and I would like to thank the businesses and members of the community that have committed to being a part of this initiative. Ensuring free access to ICT equipment and resources in various public access facilities will positively impact the East End community.”
