Island Living Show Winner

jpegThank you to all those that visited the Ironwood booth this month at the CITN/Cayman 27 Island Living Show. The event showcased the newest trends in home design, gardening, and products available on island.

We are pleased to announce our competition winner who received an autographed Arnold Palmer original ‘blade’ putter (signed on the grip), a replica of the same model he used to win nearly all of his professional events, donated by the Arnold Palmer Design Company. Congratulations to Virginia Hobday, a local doctor in Grand Cayman, featured above along with her two sons, Harrison and John-Ross Clough, and Ironwood representatives, James McVey and Samantha Widmer.

Construction Update

jpeg-1Ironwood is pleased to announce a number of recent developments in the construction process of the new community in the eastern districts. The Ironwood Town Centre drawings are in the final stages with master architect John Doak and will be submitted to the Cayman Islands Planning Department in August 2014 for approval, with an expected construction start date of November 2014. The Town Centre will include restaurants, retail outlets and specialty boutiques on the first floor of the three-story buildings with 1, 2 and 3-bedroom loft homes which will make up the second and third floors. It will be open to both Ironwood residents and the general public during the middle of 2016.

The Public Private Partnership (PPP) between Ironwood and the Cayman Islands Government for the East-West Corridor is in the final stages of approval, with the signing of the agreements and the commencement of construction anticipated for October 2014. The PPP ultimately gives the go-ahead for construction of the 10-mile road extension from Hurst Road to Frank Sound Road and the entrance into Ironwood. Construction will start from both ends of the road simultaneously.

Ironwood Beach Club

Only a short trolley ride away from the main Ironwood development will be the Beach Club, an exclusive amenity for residents and guests. This perk is a great addition for those that are looking for island living at its best. The club will feature changing facilities and showers, watersports, beach chairs and beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea.

Real Estate Focus

jpeg-3Reservations on our 1, 2 and 3-bedroom town homes are now available at a pre-construction discount which will only last for a limited time. Homeowners will have access to a social membership enabling them to use outdoor parks, fitness centre and receive special rates on the Arnold Palmer golf course. Town Homes start at US$206,400.

Golf Tip of the Month

jpeg-2Whether you are walking the course, taking a cart, hitting the range or spending a bit of extra time on the putting green after a round, golf is a great way to exercise. There is a myth though, that golf is not a calorie burning sport. Well did you know that walking 18 holes with your golf bag on a pull-cart can burn between 800 and 1,200 calories per outing? So next time you are out on the links, why not swap a power cart for a leisurely walk on the links.
