International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame Awards Banquet

ScubaJoin us for a truly phenomenal week of diving, entertainment, fine dining and underwater beauty both topside and below in Grand Cayman this November.

Situated just an hour from Florida, you will be entertained both above and below the water in a special setting of sunsets, the crystal clear aquamarine Caribbean Sea, and hosted to a week of diving, culinary delights and a fantastic film festival with world renowned underwater photographers and cinematographers. This is a fun filled program for all divers, and we’ll be recognizing the newest inductees to the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame!

Entertainment:

Two special evenings have been planned for your entertainment. The International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame Awards Banquet will be on Tuesday night to recognize the leaders in the diving industry that have contributed to and grown the spot of diving in fields such as education, photography, research, exploration and more. You will meet the inductees, as well as past recipients, and be wined, dined and entertained by the exploits of these internationally renowned diving leaders.

On Tuesday November 12, 2013 the Cayman Islands will be hosting the annual induction ceremony of the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame which will consist of a cocktail reception from 6-7PM immediately followed by dinner and the induction ceremony. Venue is the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort.

Wednesday night at the International Underwater Film Festival will be a visual delight. Join us at the International Film Festival and be entertained by some of the best in the world that will take you around the world underwater to see some of the most stunning creatures and topography imaginable!

Underwater film festival tickets are CI$ 25 pre-sold or at the doorTicket can be purchased through www.cita.ky/uff2013 or at CITA office.

Films Shown:

There will be a number of short films being submitted by local artists, One on the silversides by Jason Washington, A feature on Guy Harvey by Tony Mark, Also expecting submissions from Michael Maes and Frans De Backer.

2 overseas films will be featured:

Bullets to Bubbles by Dr. Debra Hill, which follows some young war veterans and their journey to recovery from lost limbs and other injuries through diving.

The other will be We Are Water by Jill Heinerth about the earth’s freshwater shortages and how humanity is impacted. Mrs. Heinerth is a world-renowned cave diver and the film will show a lot of her own footage.

Ticket price includes free small bags of popcorn for the first 150 people to enter at the theater, and a free cocktail with your ticket stub at the After-party which is happening at Abacus. The after-party will be for guests of the film festival only, a section of the restaurant will be roped off for our guests. The after party will start at 9:15pm.

There is no additional cost, however guest will require the ticket stub to gain access. There will be small food bites passed around as well. The after party will be where the winners of the photography contest will be announced and presented.
