Credit Agricole says wealth arm no longer managing offshore structures

From Reuters

French bank Credit Agricole said on Wednesday that it no longer managed offshore structures for its clients.

It issued a statement following a report by French newspaper Le Monde based on leaked documents on the activities of Panama law firm Mossack Fonseca.

“Credit Agricole Wealth management has no presence in Panama … (and it) does not create or manage so-called offshore structures on behalf of its clients,” it said, adding that the practice ended in 2015.

The Le Monde report suggested Credit Agricole had 54 active offshore companies in Panama, set up via Mossack Fonseca, as of end-2015.

West Indies-South Africa-Australia Tri-series in Caribbean to make floodlight history

From Zee News

All 10 of the one-day internationals will be day/night affairs, with the first match on June 3.

Bridgetown: The upcoming tri-series between the West Indies, South Africa and Australia will be the first series in history to see all matches played under floodlights, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced on Saturday.

All 10 of the one-day internationals will be day/night affairs, with the first match on June 3.

“This is a major series with three very attractive teams featuring some of the world`s best players,” WICB Operations manager Roland Holder said.

“They are accustomed to playing under lights all over the world so we look forward to some very entertaining cricket.

“We looked at ways to enhance the appeal and the spectator experience and it is accepted that fans like the day/night matches.”

International cricket will return to Guyana for the first time in two years, to coincide with the country`s 50th anniversary of independence, for the opening fixtures.

After three matches in St Kitts, the last group games and the final will be held at the Kensington Oval, Barbados.

The announcement comes at a time when South Africa have raised concerns about Australia`s proposal to play a Test match on their tour this summer under lights.

Felix expressed sadness about pulling out of Cayman Invitational

From Track Alerts

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands – American Olympic Games 200m champion Allyson Felix has expressed sadness at her late withdrawal from Saturday’s (14 May) Cayman Invitational meeting.

In April, Felix, who is recovering from a “minor” ankle injury, announced her withdrawal from the Doha Diamond League meet (6 May).

She, however, was still hoping to recover in time for the Cayman Invitational.

“Unfortunately, I’m still not fully healthy and will not be able to compete in Cayman,” said the champion athlete, who won 31 medals representing the USA, in a statement.

“I was looking forward to getting back on the track and know Cayman will be a great meeting,” added the four-time Olympic Games gold medallist, who was down to contest the 100m and 400m events at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.

Cydonie Mothersille-Stephens, the meet director, expressed sadness at Felix’s withdrawal, but wish her a speedy recovery.

“We are sorry she is not here to compete, but we wish her a speedy recovery and that she will be ready to defend her title in Rio 2016,” added Mothersille-Stephens, a former sprint star herself, who won the Commonwealth Games 200m title in 2010.
