Humane Society gets kick start on “Building Fund” from PwC staff

Humane Society Donation 2013web The Humane Society is working toward raising funds for the maintenance of their facility that house the numerous animals around the Cayman Islands that do not have a place to call home.  The shelter is an older building that requires constant attention.  Although a new facility would be lovely, it is currently not a reality but it is our long term goal.

PwC’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee saw that need first hand after a number of visits and volunteer activities that were arranged for staff to participate in.  Brian Chappel, PwC’s Corporate Responsibility Committee lead, says “we have a number of fundraising efforts around the office for staff to participate in and were able to raise a thousand dollars in those efforts.  We wanted to give back to the community that we work and live in, and as such had decided to donate that money to the Humane Society in their support.”

Janette Fitzgerald, Retail Director of the Cayman Islands Humane Society says that “the Humane Society is very grateful to the PwC staff and the Committee.  Truly, without people like you all, we would be unable to do the work we do.”
