Health City Cayman Islands and SZV Social & Health Insurances partner to fly patients from St. Maarten

There is to be an official announcement of an agreement between SZV Social & Health Insurances and Health City Cayman Islands to send patients from St. Maarten for specialized medical care to Health City Cayman Islands on direct weekly chartered flights via Cayman Airways.

The announcement will be made on Monday, March 27th 2017 at 10 a.m. Those taking part will be:

Deputy Premier and Minister of Tourism Hon Moses Kirkconnell

Dr. Chandy Abraham – CEO & Head of Medical Services, Health City Cayman Islands

Emil Lee – Minister of Labor, Health and Social Development, St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles

Shomari Scott, Director of Marketing, Health City Cayman Islands

Ramzy Dennaoui, Chief Operating Officer, SZV Social & Health Insurances, St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles.

Background:       Health City Cayman Islands has reached an agreement with SZV Social & Health Insurances – the national health insurance provider in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, to provide specialized surgical and diagnostic care to St. Maarten residents. SZV has several patients waiting for care that is unavailable in the country, who will be served by this agreement. Previously, SZV patients have been sent to other regional centers for medical tourism to receive health services.

The agreement with SZV adds to the number of agreements signed by Health City Cayman Islands and regional governments and insurance providers to become a service provider of choice for specialized tertiary care. Such agreements underscore Health City Cayman Islands’ ongoing commitment to develop medical tourism in the Cayman Islands.

The Cayman Airways chartered flights will utilize the SAAB 340B+ which currently serves the national airline’s Cayman Brac route.
