Guyana: Man kills himself after finding it difficult to get a job

By David Gajadar From Guyana Guardian
The family of a relatively quiet and humble man who hung himself during the wee hours of this morning are now grieving over the unexpected and gruesome act.

The dead man has been identified by family members as 33-year-old Gregory Suhkdeo of Soesdyke Linden Highway. He was discovered dead by his father just after 4am today.

A relative who spoke with the Guyana Guardian explained that Sukhdeo lived with his father at their home and had recently lost his job at a local poultry distribution centre just last week. The relative said that the now deceased man was finding it difficult to acquire another job, and as such suffered from several bouts of depression.

The relative related that his father felt something was not right and when he called out to his son very early this morning, and received no response. Upon closer investigation, he discovered his son hanging from his bedroom ceiling.

The man’s body is now at the Lyken,s Funeral Home awaiting a postmortem examination.
