Michael Misick, the former Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, will be extradited from Brazil tomorrow (Tuesday January 7th).

This was confirmed just after 4 p.m. on Monday January 6th in the Supreme Court by Queen’s Counsel Andrew Mitchell, the lead prosecutor for the Special Investigation and Prosecution Team.

Mitchell told the court that when Misick returns he will be charged and taken before a magistrate where he is expected to apply for bail.

The SUN understands from reliable sources that a British police officer Inspector Tony Noble will be accompanying Misick from Brazil.

Misick will be represented by attorney Oliver Smith who will be joined by a team of high-powered international lawyers.

Supporters of Misick are already preparing T-shirts and placards in anticipation of his arrival.

Special Prosector Helen Garlick previously stated that whenever Misick returns to the Turks and Caicos Islands on the plane, SIPT’s Senior Investigating Officer is not prepared to let anyone, including the former Premier’s lawyers to have any conversations with him during the journey.

Garlick said that this is standard procedure for transporting prisoners. She also noted that while he is on the plane, no efforts will be made to interview Misick or talk to him about any matter relating to the case.
