Child Month activities bring families closer.

Child Month celebrations continued with Father-Daughter Evening last Wednesday (16 May).

In each district, the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) organized dinner and games for families to enjoy.

Held at Corita’s Cooper Kettle in George Town, families came out to enjoy an evening of food and fellowship.

Guest speaker and Minister of Community Affairs, Gender and Housing the Hon. Mike Adam, MBE, JP emphasized the importance of a healthy father/daughter relationship.

As he shared a few of his own parenting tips, Minister Adam encouraged fathers to secure a loving relationship with their daughters by spending quality time and expressing ever-lasting love. He also reminded families to cherish their relationships as is it is one of the foundations to a happy home as well as a strong community.

Daughters share hug with dad as they accept roses.

Setting the tone for the night, he was joined by his two daughters, Wendy and Cindy, and grand-daughter Ariyah.
