Empowering Cayman’s Creators: Chamber’s ‘Legal Assist’ Course Unlocks the Power of Intellectual Property

George Town, Grand Cayman – The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce is proud to
announce the next installment in its acclaimed Legal Assist training series: “Intellectual
Property”, a dynamic two-hour course designed to equip entrepreneurs, creatives, and
business professionals with the tools to protect and leverage their ideas.

Set for Thursday 19 June, this course is part of the Legal Assist programme—an initiative
generously offered by legal professionals from HSM, one of the Cayman Islands’ leading
law firms. The programme provides accessible, high-quality legal education to the local
business community, helping participants navigate complex legal topics without the
burden of hefty legal fees

Why Intellectual Property Matters

In today’s innovation-driven economy, intellectual property is more than just legal
jargon—it’s a business asset. Whether it’s a logo, a product design, a unique invention, or
original content, IP can be the cornerstone of a brand’s identity and competitive edge.
Yet, many businesses and creators remain unaware of how to properly protect these
valuable assets.

  • Patents
  • Designs
  • Copyrights

Participants will gain a clear understanding of the types of protection available under
Cayman Islands law, as well as insights into global IP safeguarding strategies. By the end of the session, attendees will be empowered to recognize, protect, and strategically manage their intellectual property.
