NOTES FOR THE MALIBU SUNSET COCKTAIL:

This gorgeous drink definitely says Caribbean sunset to me. Lets all go lay in our hammocks with a Malibu Sunset. And dream of Jamaican beaches! If you are lucky enough to be on the beach while you sip this delicious refresher…(envy sigh here). Think of me 🙂

NOTE: You’ll need Malibu rum and coconut liqueur for the alcohol. Fresh pineapple juice and yummy sweet grenadine syrup to make the sunset blend.

I did, at one time, experiment with mixing cranberry juice and sparkling tonic water in this drink with the rest of the ingredients. That didn’t turn out too well. My Cranberry Mimosa’s are the drink for you if you are looking for a cranberry party drink. Yum!

Malibu Sunset Cocktail tastes so good and offers colorful, elegant refreshment! Want this stunner as a virgin drink? Try using coconut water instead of the coconut rum!

TIP: If you want to layer your Malibu Sunset Cocktail like we have watch the video below. It’s really quite simple. The principle of drink layering works this way. The sugar content creates various weights and densities in your ingredients. They will naturally layer if poured correctly into your cup as directed. You MUST add the ingredients as shown to have success. Good Luck!

HERE’S THE METHOD:

Place 3-4 ice cubes in the bottom of a glass. I’m using Heavy Base Rocks 4 piece set Drinking Glasses 11.7 oz
Pour the pineapple juice and the rum over the ice.
Next, pour the grenadine slowly down one side of the glass (pouring too fast will mix the grenadine in and you won’t get the cool color separation)
I stuck 2 cherries and a pineapple chunk on a toothpick for a garnish. Enjoy your drinks immediately.

Please remember to drink responsibly and kick back and relax!
