A couple of points and the headlines

Today in the US many businesses celebrate the July 4th holiday since it falls on a Saturday this year. So we will have the headlines but there are a couple of points to mention:

  1. In a press conference today, Los Angeles announced that their data analysis indicates that some of the spike in new CoViD-19 cases was due to the protests several weeks ago. I have not heard that mentioned as a cause prior to today
  2. The SARS-CoV-2 virus may have mutated a bit to make itself more easily transmitted person to person. It doesn’t seem to be causing worse disease but more people may catch it.
  3. The percentage of positive cases among people being tested is way up in Florida, Texas and Alabama. That’s a bad sign that more virus is spreading in the community.

Be well and take care of yourself. There are storm clouds on the horizon.
