Dow Travers leads Cayman’s Winter Olympics team

20100204_Dow_Travers_Vail_350Downhill skier, Dow Travers, leads Cayman’s delegation to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, in Sochi, Russia that takes place from February 7-23.

Travers was the first athlete to represent the in a Winter Olympics when in 2010 he was placed 69th overall in the Giant Slalom.

Travers is training in Aspen, Colorado.

The Cayman Islands delegation includes:

Athlete: Dow Travers

Chef de Mission: David Carmichael

Coach: Jake Zamansky

CIOC President: Donald McLean

CIOC Treasurer: Bernie Bush

  1. I looked forward to seeing the lone Olympian from the Caymans at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, and was disappointed to see a mere split-second of him! Very brave indeed, to be the sole representative of a nation. But iEyeNews published a very nice photo of him and his background, so I’m happy! Hearty congratulations to Dow and his family.
