Dogs steal the fashion show

Glitz, glamour, and a massive helping of doggy cuteness were all on show at the Ritz-Carton Hotel.

Models of the four-legged variety turned the catwalk into a dogwalk as they strutted their stuff for The Humane Society.

The annual fashion shown, known as Doggywood, is a must date on the Cayman calendar social scene.

And the canines didn’t disappoint, bringing the house down with their fabulous and well-practiced routine. house down with their fabulous and well-practiced routine.

Hooray for Doggywood…!

Models of the four-legged variety wowed a packed audience at the Ritz as the annual Humane Society Fashion Show came to town.

Money was raised, hearts strings were tugged and, most importantly, one of the dogs at the show moved a step closer to finding a forever home.

After weeks of training the canines took to the stage. There were a few nerves back stage beforehand but only in the handlers as the dogs took to the limelight in their stride.

Although the exact total has not yet been counted, thousands of dollars were raised during the event.

One generous member of the audience bid a whopping $1,500 for a hand-bag – and then took to the catwalk to proudly show off his purchase.

Newly crowned Miss Cayman Lindsay Japal was among the audience members while former Miss Cayman, Cristin Alexander took to the stage to show off one of the outfits that was modeled after the dogs had finished.

Susan Gabruch, on of the organisers of the event, said: “Things really couldn’t have gone any better.

“All the handlers did a fantastic job but the real stars of the show were undoubtedly the dogs.

“I’d like to thank everyone who made this such a special evening and also all the guests for their generosity.”
