Doctors Hospital Marks 25 Years of Excellence with Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Celebration

George Town, Grand Cayman — Doctors Hospital commemorated
a significant milestone on Thursday evening, 15 May, hosting a
special edition of the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce’s
Business After Hours to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. The event
drew a vibrant crowd of Chamber members, healthcare
professionals, and community leaders, all gathered to honour a
quarter-century of exceptional, patient-focused care in the Cayman
Islands.

Held at the hospital’s Middle Road location, the evening provided
guests with an opportunity to network in a welcoming and upbeat
atmosphere while reflecting on the hospital’s evolution and future
vision. With refreshments flowing and conversations buzzing, the
celebration underscored the hospital’s enduring presence and impact
in both the healthcare and business landscapes of the Cayman
Islands.

Chamber President Omari Corbin delivered the welcome remarks,
praising Doctors Hospital as a long-standing pillar of the Chamber
and a catalyst for progress in the region’s healthcare sector.
“Tonight is more than just a networking event,” Corbin said. “It’s a
moment to recognise the journey of an institution that has touched
the lives of thousands and continues to redefine what quality, patient-
centred healthcare can look like in the Caribbean.”

Corbin highlighted the hospital’s growth from its founding in 2000 as
Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital to its rebranding in 2021 as
Doctors Hospital, noting its expansion into advanced, internationally
accredited services across cardiology, oncology, neurology, and
orthopaedics. He also praised the hospital’s adoption of telehealth,
AI-driven diagnostics, and its leadership in sustainability as a certified
Green Healthcare facility.

“Doctors Hospital is helping build a model where healthcare can be
both economically sustainable and human-focused,” Corbin said.
“You have been leaders. You have been innovators. You have been
healers. Here’s to the next 25 years of growth, excellence, and
impact.”

Dr. med Yaron Rado, Chairman of the Board and Chief Radiologist,
reflected on the hospital’s proactive role in significant public health
moments, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We didn’t wait to be asked to act,” he said. “Doctors Hospital
stepped up with fast, reliable testing, protecting not just patients but
the entire Island.”

Dr. Rado also spotlighted the hospital’s strategic investment in
cutting-edge technology and paid tribute to its dedicated staff—”the
true heartbeat” of the organisation.

The hospital’s founder, Dr. Steve Tomlinson, took the audience back
to the early days of Cayman’s healthcare system, recalling the vision
and persistence that shaped the hospital’s beginnings.

“I remember when there wasn’t even a doctor in the Brac,” he shared.
“It’s been quite a journey since then.”

The evening was capped off with a look into the future, as Doctors
Hospital outlined upcoming innovations and initiatives designed to
elevate care quality further and expand community outreach. Several
lucky attendees walked away with raffle prizes, further enhancing the
celebratory atmosphere.

The Chamber extends its sincere congratulations to Doctors Hospital
on 25 years of service and thanks them for hosting a memorable and
meaningful Business After Hours.
