Grand Cayman, January 17, 2023 – The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is seeking the patience and understanding of Cayman Brac residents as garbage collection services in the Sister Island experience delays. 

These delays are the result of a series of mechanical failures experienced by our trucks, in addition to an accident with the loaded garbage truck earlier this month. Personnel from the Department of Public Works (DPW) are currently performing the necessary repairs, but the vehicle downtime still resulted in a slight delay in collections.

The DEH apologises to residents in the affected areas. Meanwhile, the department’s team in Cayman Brac is assiduously working to resume this service.
