Cyber Security the focus of upcoming Small Business Workshop

The latest Small Business Workshop to be held at the Chamber’s Small Business Centre will focus on ‘Cyber Security,’ and it will be held on Monday, September 11 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.

With the continuous evolution of technology, cybersecurity is becoming more of a risk every day. Whilst we may only hear about cyberattacks when celebrities or global corporations are involved, it is small businesses that make the most obvious targets.

Micho Schumann, a Principal at KPMG, has over 17 years of experience in the field of cybersecurity, and he wants to share his knowledge with the small business community to better prepare them in the fight against cyberattacks.

Mr. Schumann will be addressing areas including:
• The current state of information security;
• Security incidents seen in the Cayman Islands;
• Risks associated with insecure web portals, Wi-Fi networks & USB drives;
• Mitigating risks associated with information theft by rogue employees; and much more!

The workshop will also provide real-time demonstrations and explanations.

Those interested in attending can register by going to SOURCE website.

Our last Small Business Workshop looked at ‘Negotiation Techniques.’

Marketing expert Michael Ferrier was on hand to provide advice to a dozen small business owners, teaching them more about attitudes to have when approaching negotiations, golden rules to follow, body language to look out for, and more.

If you were unable to attend this workshop, go to SOURCE website and download a copy of the presentation.
