CBS12 News — A Princess cruise ship rescued two survivors of a small plane crash at sea on Tuesday.

Called the Regal Princess, the ship was heading to St. Thomas when it got a notification from the U.S. Coast Guard about a downed aircraft nearby, according to Coast Guard officials. The ship then changed course to save the two survivors. They were found in a life raft about 23 miles southeast of Grand Turk & Caicos.

The Coast Guard also sent a rescue boat and aircraft, officials said. The survivors weren’t injured.

After the rescue, the ship continued to St. Thomas.
