Crown still going ahead with charges against local activist

CatronCayman’s Crown is still going ahead with their prosecution case against local activist Sandra Catron.

The Crown claims Catron used an ICT (Information and Communications Technology) network – Facebook  – to harass or annoy by sending out harassing text.

Catron has denied all the charges and has already won a case in the battle with the Crown when High Court Judge Alex Henderson threw the warrant out used to search Catron’s home and office at the time of her arrest.

The Justice of the peace admitted in court he had signed the warrant without knowing what or why he was signing it.

This has led Catron to pursue a damages claim against the Crown.

The Crown is not going down without a fight and last week served Catron at her home with legal documents. These included a list of 21 names to be called as witnesses.

It is not going to be a quick trial either as the Crown has estimated it should take two weeks.
