T&T’s Alexi Cos­ta won the gold medal in the women’s 20 kilo­me­tre Time Tri­al at the 2018 Elite Caribbean Road Cy­cling Cham­pi­onship in San­to Domin­go, Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic on Sat­ur­day.

Cos­ta com­plet­ed the course in 29:56.12 min­utes ahead of Cu­ra­cao’s Lisa Groothueshei­d­kamp (29:58.53) and Bermu­dan, Caitlin Cony­er (30:13.97).

In the men’s 30km cat­e­go­ry, Tyler Cole fin­ished ninth in a time of 41:39.66 and team-mate Christo­pher Govia, 13th, 42:53.28. The win­ning time was 39:23.91 by Agus­to Sanchez of Do­mini­ca.

Cole was fourth over­all in the Un­der-23 Age-Group to miss the bronze medal by 0.2 of a sec­ond.

Bar­ba­di­an Joshua Kel­ly was first fol­lowed by Bermu­da’s Con­nor White and an­oth­er Bar­ba­di­an, Ja­cob Kel­ly third. To­day, the T&T trio will com­pete in the Road Race.
